Gaye baras ki eid ka din kya acha tha,
chaand ko dekh ke uskaa chehra dekha tha
Fazaa mein cactus ke lehjey ki nermahat thi
mausam apne rang mein faiz ka missraah tha
Dua ke be-awaz, ulohi lamhon mein
woh lamhaa bhi kitna dilkashh lamha tha
Haath utha ker jab Aankhoon hi aankhon mein
us ne mujh ko apne Rab se mangaa tha
Phir mere chehre ko haathon mein le ker
kitney pyar se mera maatha chooma tha!
Hawa! kuch aj ki shab ka ahwaal suna
kya woh apni chat per aj akela tha?
Ya koi mere jeisi saath thi, aur uss ne
chand ko dekh ke us ka chehra dekhaa tha?
